I'm not sure if you mean Los Angeles proper or not, but I've seen it at both Vallarta Supermarkets and Jon's Marketplace.

If you can make it to the Irvine Saturday farmers' market, you can buy it there... as you enter the market from the Indian restaurant, make your first left and go all the way to the end -- it's the third or fourth stall from the end, on the left, with all the herbs.

I've bought it at the Santa Monica Wednesday farmers market.

don't know what part of l.a., but sunland produce in sunland, on sunland and glenoaks, carries purslane.

Look for 'verdolagas' in markets catering to latinos

Armenian markets too. And almost always at the herb stand at the Hollywood and Pasadena farmers markets, among others.

I've seen it at Liborio Markets.

...and Farm Fresh and King Ranch. I think just about any Latino market with a decent produce section will carry it.

I saw purslane at the Food 4 Less in Guatema-, er, Westlake today. There was one bunch left in the bin, and it was badly torn up (like pretty much every thing at that Food 4 Less).
