Coffee in N PHX/Scottsdale

  • 5

I'm staying at the JW Mariott in Desert Ridge. I'd like to avoid the ubiquitous starbucks and am looking for something in the intelligentsia coffee (Chicago) caliber. Any recommendations?

  1. Desert Ridge is a newly developed, sprawlish place, so there aren't many independents in the immediate area.

A local blogger has created a very useful map of independent coffee houses in the Phoenix Area. Zoom in around Desert Ridge and you'll see a few listings a few miles away in north Scottsdale, northeast Phoenix, and Cave Creek.

For the OP, Lux is neither in Scottsdale nor N PHX, so that might not fit the bill if distance is priority, but certainly a top-choice if in the downtown area. Coupled with outstanding Pane Bianco next door, I'd say make the trek down there.

Thanks for the clarification. I think my brain just saw coffee & went Lux! : )
