Neighborhood bakeries with cupcakes for < $2 each?
I am searching for old-fashioned-type, neighborhood bakeries that sell old-fashioned, simple, regular-sized cupcakes for LESS THAN $2.
No $3.75 or $4 cupcakes with schmancy decorations. No grocery store bakeries either, I know about Viktor Benes and Bristol Farms bakeries. I just want simple tasty homemade-style cupcakes from a small bakery.
Places I have found:
Jongewaard's, Long Beach: $1.90, chocolate, red velvet
Monrovia Bakery, Monrovia: $1.30(?), chocolate, vanilla
I know I could make them myself, but on those days when I don't feel like baking but I want a simple inexpensive cupcake I'd like to know all my options!

Buttercake Bakery on Pico near Overland. Actual cross street is Manning, next door to Subway. For me they epitomize cute, moist, simple home style cupcakes in basic flavors (chocolate, vanilla, red velvet--that's it). That is to say, it's no tastier or fancier than any average cook could do at home with a good recipe, but you can get one for $1.75 (or a mini cupcakes for 75 cents) instead of baking 24.

Lark Cake Shop on Sunset & Micheltorena in Silverlake. Great flavors like Salted Caramel and nice people. They do nice cakes as well.

re: scurvy
They're $1.90! I just called. Fabulous! And all the flavors! Why doesn't anyone else talk about this place?

re: condorito
I took cupcakes from Lark for a birthday at work yesterday - big hit. I had an assortment, and, when I opened the box, the birthday celebrant said, "They look just like jewels!" They have a big variety there, but they're a little more adult in taste (read: less sugary) than what is offered at Sprinkles or Crumbs. They have great visual impact, too, with a big pillow of frosting piled on top. Sadly, their moistness is not always the best, but yesterday's batch was good. I got all raves from the coworkers.
Fifteen cupcakes cost $28 and change.
