What spirits work best with some fresh apple cider? Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe some Goslings and a dash of Ginger Beer.

how fresh...? I would skip the drink and dump it in a fermenter with a couple of cans of good quality cherries, pitch in some English cider yeast and let'r rip!

If not that - Jack Daniel's has an amazing amazing ability to work with apples and cider...

Gosling's by itself would be fine, too, I think--but the ginger beer would probably make it great.

I've had Maker's Mark, Applejack brandy, Myer's rum, and cinnamon schnapps in hot apple cider--all are delicious.

I concur with the Goslings, but what we do when we can lay hands on some unpasteurized apple cider is simply leave it, cap slightly ajar, in the mudroom for a few days to go slightly hard. It becomes fizzy and crisp enough that I don't think you would need the ginger beer.

I always just use brandy. And float a few orange slices in it for extra flavor.
