San Diego Mexican for a group

bknight Sep 28, 2007 08:58 AM

Hi, I'm looking for a good mid-priced Mexican restaurant in San Diego that could accomodate a large group (~20) people. Something near the convention center or an easy trolley ride away.

Trolley to Old Town, walk a couple of blocks to Casa Guadalajara. Make reservations.

I would also recommend a trolly to old town and make a reservation at OLD TOWN MEXICAN CAFE.

Our Harley Group just had a great Mexican dinner at La Pinata in Old Town (behind Casa Guadalajara). They had plenty of room to accommodate our big party and the service and more importantly, the food was excellent. I ordered the most tender carne asada that had roasted poblano rajitas on top and my husband ordered a huge Chimichanga and a Chile Relleno that was prepared perfectly. The Guacamole was creamy and seasoned just right. They also have Jamaica, Horchata and Tamarindo drinks - something you don't find at just any restaurant.

        This food is authentic, people!
