Hi, My fiance and I will be in SF to celebrate his birthday next weekend and I was hoping for some recs for a "can't miss" place for sat night dinner thats new american cuisine
also any good brunch places we should check out?

      Some top restaurants that would fall into "New American":

      Acme Chophouse
      Fly Trap
      Jack Falstaff
      Michael Mina
      One Market
      Salt House
      Scott Howard
      Town Hall

      Might be too few or too many on that list depending on where you draw the lines between New American, California, and French.

        i love Foreign Cinema's brunch. they have a great way with eggs.

          Blue Plate - more casual and neighborhoody than some of the other places. Plus you could get a drink at The Argus before/after.

          Maverick would be nice as well, though you'd want to move on the reservation now. If they don't have one on OpenTable, then often have some room if you call.
