If you had 1lb of fresh ground bear hamburger, what would you do?

Cook it well. Trichinosis can be problem, even more so than with pork.

Don't know yet what it tastes like. Our nephew is a very avid hunter and he gave me, his aunt who loves to cook, some bear sausage and the hamburger. We are going camping this weekend so I will be grilling up the sausage no problem. And I know what I would do if I had some stew meat or a bear roast but for some reason the hamburger has me stumped. I have heard some say bear can be very greasy.

It tastes kinda like a cross between bald eagle and blue whale

Taste will depend on it's age, sex, and what the bear was eating before it was killed. I've never tried it, but I bet it taste good. I'd make a meat loaf or burgers. It might be kind of lean too.

I have no experience with bear meat. However, I know people in Montana who dine on this stuff. First I would determine how lean it is. If it is lean, some other kind of ground meat may need to be combined with it. You could make burgers, meat balls or meatloaf with it.

Since I do not use any ground meat in chili, I will not suggest chili as an option. I use lean chunks of either bottom round or chuck in my chili.
