I-95 thru Richmond- Saturday late lunch

We are on our wat to DC on Saturday and will be around Richmond and on I-95. Can anyone help with a great lunch spot. We are foodies and chefs. We only want independent places where the food is the focus. Contemporary cuisine, bistro, thai,sushi whatever, just not deep south southern cooked to death. Please help. Thank-you.

I always make a point to stop at the Hill Cafe....fairly easy on and off from I95 and I really enjoy the food, service and atmosphere.

The Hill Cafe is a good rec. Another good one in that same area is Millie's. Another one, also with good on-off access to I-95 but a bit further north is Kitchen 64.

A little bit of a hurry we have dinner reservations in DC at 7:30. I think we will be in or around Richmond about 2. We could have an earlier lunch closer to NC since we will be leaving from Wilmington around 10.
