Went out for a once in a blue moon burger for lunch today. A friend from Sacramento referred me to Squeeze In in the newly refurbished Redwood Plaza, next to Vallergas. Apparently the Sac. location is somewhat iconic and is known for its cheeseburgers. That location was shown on Food Network about 2 months ago.

Anyway, for $5.50, ordered the Squeezeburger, 1/3 pound of beef (fried not grilled), sesame bun, romaine lettuce, red onions, tomato, mayo and mustard. Added jalapenos for .50. Then they add probably another 1/3 pound or more of shredded cheddar (I think it was cheddar), put the bun top on it and cover it for a few minutes. What you end up with is a large halo of crisp cheese surrounding the burger. Also had the fresh cut, skin on fries. Pretty good overall. Said they opened last December and have been under the radar. It definitely makes my Napa cheap eats list.

That's an understatement. This place is the ultimate dive. In a funky, ancient building serving great food.

Great to know, thanks. I had no idea that they opened a second place.
