Roti finally arrives in P. Slope
Hidden on bistro-clogged 5th Ave is the Nibble Nook. It's a candystore/bakery/island food take out shop. I had an excellent potato roti. Scotch bonnet peppers optional. Other choices: goat, shrimp, chicken, beef, veggi. Also homemade meat pies. A super friendly family operation. It's at 349 5th, across from Middle School 51.
This place makes great, simple, un-Europeanized cookies. And while it's nice to have a realistic roti here in the neighborhood, I still prefer the Flatbush/Crown Heights folks. But the cookies at Nibble Nook are just amazing.

Bet. 4th & 5th Streets.
And I plan to try the home-made chocolate-covered pretzels!

I agree that they are very friendly people and I hope that they succeed. However I thought the roti was just average. I prefer some of the places that I've found on Utica Ave, one of which is, I think, called Ali Roti. I believe that it is two blocks or so south of Eastern Parkway, on the east side of Utica Ave.
