Right now I have a hunger for some good seafood or italian but am open for new adventures. I want to stay in the mid-price range. Ideally, I am looking for a comfortable place to have a few drinks and a quiet meal - looking for good food not flash if that makes it more clear.

Although I've never been, friends have uniformly recommended Dock's for seafood in AC. As far as Italian is concerned while it may be a little more expensive than you want, I personally enjoyed the food at Girasole.

I think Dock's has an on-line menu where you can check prices, apps run in the $8-$12 range, and entrees in the $25-$30 range. Excellent raw bar too. I'd check it out if you want seafood. Reservations are a must.

I was in AC this past weekend and had yet another satisfying meal at Dock's Oyster House on Atlantic Avenue ... its upscale seafood.

Cant go to AC without hitting White House subs... best you will ever eat.

If you also want a laid back lunch, the Irish Pub is always great.

There have lots of discussions about AC restaurants in general, so if you just search this board you'll get some good general ideas.

However, since you'll be at the stadium on Albany ave for the blues festival I'll give you a great suggestion if you like mexican. La Escondida is a terrific, authentic mexican restaurant (as opposed to, say, Los Amigos) in Pleasantville, which is just a couple miles west of the stadium. Area can be a little rough at night, so I'd recommend lunch.
No liquor license, but you can bring beer or wine if you like. The front is a resturant, the middle is a mexican grocery, and in the back is a general store selling boots, hats, CDs and other mexican fare. Address is 18 West Washington Avenue, Pleasantville, NJ.

For Mexican near Albany Ave., there is also Mexico Restaurant (3810 Ventnor Ave.) (see previous reviews on this board). And I echo the earlier reviewers on Dock's. For Italian, look for reviews of Cafe 2825 on this board.
