Old World Restaurant Veggie Burger

mrshankly Sep 25, 2007 05:45 PM

There used to be a restaurant called the Old World Restaurant on Sunset (where Red Rock is now) and in Westwood. They had the most delicious and hearty veggie burger that they made in-house. If anybody can remember this restaurant and can recommend a similar veggie burger around town, I'd greatly appreciate it.

i've never had that one so i don't know how it would compare, but get thee to houston's, pronto, for what is undoubtedly the best veggie burger on the planet.

Oy, I'm not a Houston's veggie burger fan. Blech. Personal opinion, of course. ;)

IMO, it's pretty unglamorous, but Cheesecake Factory had an AMAZING veggie burger. The idiots took it off the menu a few months ago. Grrrrr.

Cheesecake Factory and Grand Lux Cafe are known to make perplexing moves like that and pull great items off the menu. It was criminal for Grand Lux to pull their peanut butter crunch pie off of the menu!!

Thanks for the veggie burger recommendations. Let me know if there's anywhere else you'd recommend.

Never tried that one, but I do like veggie burgers a lot. Anyone I've ever told to try the Big Macro at M Cafe de Chaya has agreed it's the best they've ever had. And, I do enjoy the beet-based veggie burger (with something like 20 other ingredients) at Lucky Devil's. I suppose the lentil veggie burger at Hugo's will do in a pinch. Happy hunting (or picking, as the case may be).

Have you tried it at The Counter in Santa Monica? A friend swears by it. On Ocean Park Blvd. just a few blocks west of Bundy.
