Moving to La Brea Blvd & 10 Fwy - Recs?

thericequeen and Prince Charming are moving from the Westside to the St. Elmo Village area - basically La Brea Boulevard & the 10 Freeway. Are there any good dining/take-out options within a one-mile radius? (think need food after butt-dragging weary day - no way am I going to cook). :)

Goodness, if you're willing to travel to Bloom (good idea), then you can certainly make it to Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles!

About 2 miles north of you on the corner of Olympic and La Brea in the auto body parking lot is a taco truck with very good al pastor. They are here after 7p.

Been eyeing Hoagies & Wings - I pass it on my way to my upholsterer and furniture caner. Had intended to stop last weekend but it was raining so hard I took a pass. Any wing or sandwich choice in particular?

The other options mentioned also look good - I didn't realize Partamian's was so close. I'm still a little turned around. Thanks y'all!

I always get a chicken or steak hoagie, no mayo. They also have awesome east-coast style buffalo fingers. I'm actually not much of a wings person.

I've been ordering Hoagie's & Wings for a couple years now (they deliver; I've never actually been to one of the stores), and the lemon-pepper wings are a big hit in our house.

I should mention that I've seen a few people on chowhound say they think they're too salty, so if you're over-sensitive to that, those wings might not be the best choice for you.

El Nido is a Nicaraguan place on LaBrea just north of the 10. Looks grungy on the outside but is actually rather attractive inside. I haven't been in a while, but it has been terrific in the past. Here's a link to an older review:

Uncle Moki's is on La Cienega near the 10, great place to pick up garlic shrimp in the style of the North Shore Hawaii shrimp trucks. (In the best Hawaiian tradition, Uncle Moki's hours are a little irregular and he keeps talking about moving so not a bad idea to call ahead-- [phone]

For Great BBQ and more convenient try JnJ Burger Shack & BBQ great Q, try the smoked chicken wings, here is the number they have early hours 6 or 6:30 323-934-5390, the are on Adams, 2 blocks east of Fairfax. Partamians Bakery does great Armenian lahmajoon, meat pizza, also on Adams.
