Going to See Jersey Boys need a Restaurant

Going to see Jersey Boys on Tuesday night. What is a good Italian or Steak place close to 52nd and 8th

  1. Roberto Passon on 9th around 54th (maybe it's 51st). They have a website, google it. Very delicious Italian, from apps to dessert, lovely atmosphere (especially in that neighborhood, where no place really has any). Please, don't waste the money on Esca, it's not what it used to be.

If you're into Korean BBQ at all, got to Bann on 50th between 8th and 9th. You can google them, too. They have all kinds of dishes, but I like the sliced rib eye that you grill yourself at the table.

Roberto Passon is on the corner of 9th & 50th. The food we had during our one dinner there was quite good though that was last year, and another Hound recently posted about a meal that had serious problems. While the atmospherics are pleasant enough, they're not anything special.

Our favorite Italian in that area, Trattoria Trecolori, has excellent homestyle food, and I think the decor and overall ambiance are much nicer than Roberto Passon's. Especially when it comes to seating, Trecolori, where tables are nicely-spaced, has it all over R.P., where seating is rather cramped. I also think the service at Trecolori is friendlier and more efficient.

Trecolori is on 47th, b/t B'way & 8th. Definitely worth the short walk from 54th St.

    2. For high end Italian, you should try Orso. It's not far 322 W. 46th (between 8th and 9th)

I tried Triomphe recently, when I couldn't get a table as Esca (which I would also recommend) - it was excellent!

Patsy's on 56th...the old school italian american food fits the jersey boys theme quite well and the food is good....

      2. Just visited NYC from SF and had a wonderful, post-theater meal at Vice Versa at W. 51st and 9th Ave. Great risotto and pasta. If they had an Italian restaurant like this in my neighborhood, it would be a smash!

        1. Our stand-bys are DB Bistro, Becco, Bouchon Bakery and Marseille
