Where can I go to take a class on decorating cakes and cupcakes?

I am wondering if there are any places in the Bay Area that has classes to teach me how to decorate cupcakes and cakes. I've been experimenting and doing soe baking at home. I can't seem to decorate my cupcake/cakes like the store bought stuff.

  1. Good question, I can cook but my baking skills are zero. Maybe a place to start would be -

    1. Spun Sugar in Berkeley has great classes. They're expenses, but after the American Cake Decorating series you'll have a ton of basics down.

      1. Try your local Michael's store, they have some cake decoration classes. If your nearest one doesn't have it, other stores may have it. It's based on Wilton method.

        1. Tante Marie Culinary School, on Francisco and Stockton...they have a part-time pastry course as well as specialized classes in all types of pastry

          1. Cake Art in San Rafael also offers lots of courses. Haven't gone, but have heard lots of good things.
