Late(ish) Seafood (buffet?) on Strip in LV?
I am looking for a good seafood dinner this Friday, but we can't get there before 10:00 p.m. Three of our group of 6 want seafood (crab, shrimp, lobster) and the other three want meat, so I am thinking a buffet might fit the bill. The Mirage and Rio buffets close between 10:00 and 11:00, not sure about the Belagio or Wynn's - any suggestions?
rm seafood at mandalay bay closes at midnight on Fridays
mon ami gabi closes at midnight (casual and not too expensive)
wynn buffet closes at 10:30
bellagio buffet closes at 11pm
Tao has dinner until 1 am
Social house at TI does late dinner until 2am has asian flair with sushi but does have steak and seafood
There are a plethora of 24 hr cafes at the hotels if it get too late
Well, most of the big name places in the casinos stop doing business at 10:00 even on the weekends. That being the case, RM Seafood might be a good option but it wouldn't be high on my list but that's personal preference.
Two suggestions for you:
1.) If you can get to Bouchon before 10:30 then you SHOULD be able to take advantage of their killer raw bar ( the oysters, mussels, and shrimp especially are some of the best in town ). The meat & potatoes lovers have the option of the Steak Frites ( the fries are FABULOUS ), the Poulet Roti ( probably the best chicken you/they 'll ever have ), or various other dishes.
2.) Another place that comes to mind but isn't necessarily easily reached is Becker's Steakhouse in Summerlin. If you have a car and don't mind a drive for your eats then this is a great option, IMO. They will serve their fantastic steaks 24 hours ( not advertised but they will do it ) and they have a great shellfish appetizer ( crab, lobster, and shrimp cocktail ) with their housemade cocktail sauce that has serious heat due to the atomic horseradish. I L*O*V*E*D that place when I lived in the area. You could get a high quality steak at all hours of the night if you wanted it ( and I did several times ).

It's great, especially for those in the "biz" who don't leave work until late at night. I had "dinner" there several times and it never disappointed.
A couple things I neglected to mention:
1.) The seafood app that I mentioned is served in a unique way ... with dry ice and lights. It comes to you literally "boiling" like a cauldron with blue and red lights coming out of it. Very cheesey but at the same time pretty cool.
2.) The creamed corn is spectacular. I love good creamed corn and theirs is definitely worth the price of admission.
I would avoid the Bellagio buffet like the plague! I had looke forward to eating there because I heard it was heavy on seafood, but all of it was awful! Every piece of fish I tried was overcooked to the level of cat food, the King Crab legs were more like oversized snow crab legs and served ice cold, and I've had better sushi at a $10 chinese buffet. Add to that the horrible service (no one came to clear or plates or refill our drinks) and the $30/pp price tag, I would stay away. In fact, the experience soured us so much, we didn't do another buffet our entire trip. We did however have wonderful meals downtown at The Grotto in the Golden Nugget and Hugo's Cellar at Four Queens.
