Just noticed this on a drive through Falls Church this weekend. Checked the menu on line and it looks authentic. Has anyone tried it? Would be wonderful to find a good fried grouper in this area.

C & D's succeeds at creating a casual "beach bar" atmosphere, so casual the red wine arrives in a jelly glass. I like that. The food is good (lump meat was falling out of my crabcake) but not transcendent, I wouldn't make a special trip just for dinner. That said, a native Floridian with a serious jones for grouper or gator might wind up happy making a special trip, maybe, I tried em and again, they tasted good but I'm not the best judge. Vegetarians should make note that the menu has a significant tofu and fake-meat section. It's a good pre-State-Theatre-concert rendezvous spot, especially if you're not dressed up, and a very good spot for a casual happy hour.

Tried it when it was located in Clarendon - they had some sort of special at the time, cheap dinner. It was okay, not great. I do remember we ordered a dessert to split - key lime cheesecake, I think - and we sent it back because it had freezer burn - yuck. Loved the idea and the decor, but I never thought to go back.
