Impress the Manhattan Family in Cobble Hill?

My family is coming this Friday for dinner all the way from the Upper East Side. I want to give them a good taste of Brooklyn. Something delicious and charming, and something that does not feel entirely like Manhattan (this is my concern with Saul, which I enjoy very much.) Would like a garden to add to the Brooklyny atmosphere and since it is set to be a nice weekend weather-wise, would love some suggestions around Smith St., Court, Atlantic. Ideas I had were Chestnut or the garden at Apt. 138, which I have found impressive lately. Would love another idea or two.

For a drink and a nice charcuterie before dinner, check out Robin des Bois on Smith near Bergen, which has a lovely back garden. Alas their dinner food is not as good as the other places people have mentioned, but their ambience is great for a drink.

Back yard at Frankie's is a good one but they don't take reservations. You could hop in a cab for the very short ride up to 5th Ave and sit outside at Convivium Osteria. They'll feel like they not only left Manhattan but left the U.S. altogether!

I adore Lunetta, but be careful about eating outside at the larger tables toward the back. We had ants everywhere and had to move inside. The food was lovely, though! The artichoke appetizer is great, as is the bread salad and macaroni and cheese.

On Smith in Cobble Hill/northern Carroll Gardens, Lunetta, Patois, and the Grocery all have gardens in the back; if you don't mind the trek to southern Carroll Gardens, Frankies' 457 has a great backyard.

I second the suggestion for the backyard at Frankies 457 - and their food is amazing, too :)

Chestnut is another one of my favorites in the area - when you make a reservation, make sure you ask for an outdoor table.

While the food has never been overwhelming, the patio @ Jolie on Atlantic is fantastic.
