MSP--- Trader Joe's to Open in Woodbury

This might be old news to everyone else here, but I just found out that Trader Joe’s is opening a store in Woodbury on October 5. This ought to be much more convenient for St. Paul hounds like myself.

Of course, the downside is that I now have to go back and read all those Trader Joe’s threads I’ve been ignoring all this time to find out what all the fuss is about. I get the feeling that the place stirs up a lot of passion both pro and con. I’ll be curious to check it out for myself.

Trader Joe’s, Woodbury
8960 Hudson Rd 55125

Hey, terrific. I'm not a giant TJ's fan, but they do some things well. Things I might now be willing to hassle with if I have to go all the way to SLP, but might if I only have to go to Woodbury (maybe it will be near the new location of Kallyste???!) Will they have the adjoining wine store, too, so we can get our two buck chuck?

I hope the parking situation is better than at SLP, too. That lot is a madhouse (as are most of the lots at the various TJ's I've been to...)

The Woodbury Trader Joe's is in the Woodbury Lakes Shopping Center, the address is mentioned in the OP's message. It has LOTS of parking, and it is about five minutes from the strip mall to which Bruno is moving Kallyste. I don't know about the wine shop, but like you, I am hoping it will be there.

yes, I saw it from Hudson Road one day and was all excited to check it out on my lunch hour.... it appeared to already be open, with the signage in place, etc... but when I drove up, I could see the dust and tarps and emptiness of the store through the glass and was disappointed...... but thanks for the update! Now I know when to check back. :-) my brother and I always used to walk to Trader Joe's, down the colonial streets in Alexandria, VA when I would fly down there to visit him and play D.C. tourist... TJ's is the only place he ever shopped for groceries.

I am a soon-to-be Chicago transplant and TJ's is where I do pretty much all my grocery shopping...isn't there one in Mpls?

There's one in St. Louis Park, which is practically Minneapolis (from the perspective of someone on the other side of the river...) The parking lot is the size of a postage stamp. Personally, I think there are better places to shop, like the Wedge Co-op.

Kelly - We love shopping at TJ's too. I wished there was one closer to South Minneapolis but we usually make it over to the St. Louis Park location once every couple of weeks.

Earlier this summer we were in Chicago over the weekend (for a wedding) it was so nice to see the new downtown TJ's there. There was talk of a new store for downtown Minneapolis, but seems to have stalled over lack of parking spaces. I would have loved that since I work downtown.
