Not sure about Park Slope, but Cobblestone in Cobble Hill has reliably good chicken stock, as well as veal stock, veal demi glace, etc.

For what it's worth, the Swanson's Organic Chicken Stock in the cardboard box (litre?--not sure) is quite decent. If you have a good supermarket by you, it's a good option.

Though I haven't tried that (I try to avoid boxed stock), the best 'in a pinch' substitute I know of is Better Than Boullion. It's thick concentrate that you dilute in hot water, not dissimilar to the concentrated demi glace you can buy and dissolve. It's really decent stuff. Comes in organic chickn, chickn, beef, veg, mushroom.

Its sold by the jar, and not very hard to find in markets lately (even our corner convenience stocks it).
