Sundy House is great with some howevers...

      make a reservation
make your reservation for the early sittings. At the end of the brunch period they do not replenish bowls and your choices are very limited, the brunch tables are a mess and you are still paying the same amount as if you had arrived early.
      It is pricey.

Delray has a number of places where the senior set hang out for breakfast, Here are a few suggestions:

Poppies Restaurant & Deli 4900 Linton Blvd (SE corner of Linton and Military)
3 G's Gourmet Deli & Restaurant 5869 W. Atlantic Ave (between Military and Jog)
Bagel Twins Linton Blvd (SW corner of Linton and Military)

If you're looking for something a little more upscale (or a lot):

Christina's, 65 NE Second Avenue (one half block north of Atlantic Avenue in Pinapple Grove http://www.christinasdelray.com
      ) Cafe Luna Rosa, 34 S. Ocean Blvd (A1A)
Sunday brunch at the Sundy House Restaurant, 106 S. Swinton Ave., 272-5678

We recently took ABs folks out in Delray and enjoyed a nice brunch right by the ocean at Cafe Luna Rosa (which RickL mentions). The post about Delray restaurants I found most helpful was here:

I have liked Luna Rosa in the past and then last year we had the most unsatisfactory experience for a brunch with friends. I think it has slipped quite a bit - not that I might not give it another try. The Sundy House was a waste from the get go. Far from inexpensive and just an ordinary variety of "stuff". Bufet is not the way to go for my two cents. At the intersection of Federal and Linton in the large shopping center if a great spot for breakfast or lunch "Bagels With". The deli/appeitzing selection is just endless and I've had nothing but winners there. There are also tables outside for those seeking that touch.

I have to agree with you that Luna Rosa has slipped recently. A couple of years ago the food was terrific but the menu has shrunk and is always the same and is nowhere near as interesting.

From the above 3 listed, my choice for a basic bacon & eggs breakfast, i'd vote for Poppies.

The last few times I've been to Poppies, I've been pleasantly surpised. They serve crisp bacon, good chunky, onion flecked, home fried potatoes and a decent pot of coffee.

Sometimes, I wish i could find the same consistently prepared basic food at my local coffee shops here in nyc.

Bagel Twins is a bit cheaper, full breakfast is $2.49 and includes fresh squeezed orange or grapefruit. I also like Poppies. I don't get the feeling that 3Gs is so clean, the place is buzzing with flies!!
