For some odd reason my children really enjoy buffets. In particular I'm looking for any "American" food buffets. Fried chicken, meatloaf, a salad bar, all you can eat. No Hometown or Chinese or Indian or Brunches. Any LA areas are fine since my kids don't mind driving to eat. Thanks!

Souplantation. They're all over the place.

Souplantation is a huge hit with or kids. The soups, hot pasta dishes, the breads (especially the "foccaccia"), alot of the salads and vegetables, the cookies, and of course, the self-serve soft-serve ice cream with all of the requisite toppings. I think they like the idea of picking and choosing for themselves as well.

Eleven branches in LA County alone (Beverly Center, Alhambra, Pasadena, Brentwood, Marina Del Rey, Arcadia, Torrance, Northridge, Lakewood, Puente Hills and Valencia).

Friday or Saturday, your kids might drive down to Amber Waves, Knott's Radisson, for prime rib and crab legs buffet.
