New In Eagle Rock: La Vie?

ElsieDee Sep 21, 2007 06:41 PM

Just saw a sign for this place today - it's on the south side of Colorado, just east of Lemongrass, across from the Oinkster. Think that the sign said "French Vietnamese" but I won't swear to that. Any details? Is this related to the La Vie on San Gabriel that is raved about?

La Vie is none of the above. It's the same owner as Lemongrass. He is taking the space next door. This is bad news cause Lemongrass is not very good. you can get more info on http://www.eaglerocktalk.com

the sign you saw would make sense if it is another branch of "la vie" on san gabriel blvd in rosemead. can't confirm but based off "french vietnamese" i'd say yes.

I saw that -- it seemed odd that it is right next to Lemongrass -- is it the same owners? What is French Vietnamese exactly?

Perhaps, but the La Vie on Rosemead is not "French Vietnamese." It is traditional French food served in a restaurant that has Vietnamese owners. There is not a trace of Vietnamese-inspired food on their menu - it's strictly French.

If it is the same as La Vie in Rosemead (but on San Gabriel Blvd) I'd give it a try. Good food in a nice quiet atmosphere with good service.

People always tell me they have a long wait there but I've never had to.
