Speed's on Saturdays!

I was there earlier today, and the dog was good!

Greg (Speed's apprentice) told me that they will open for business tomorrow (Saturday!) and see how things go. If it goes well, they are thinking about opening on Saturdays too.

Also... since many of us complain about not having the Speeds web-cam, Greg gave me his cell phone number (so I can call ahead and make sure Speed's is out & selling the dogs before I get there.) He gave me a permission to tell others about his cell #. His cell number is 617-839-0102.

I made my first Speed's trip today. Greg (Speed's version 2.0) was very friendly, and the dog was like no other. Couldn't believe he was there on a Monday, or that the dog was so good.

Impressive, I always seem to crave those dogs on a Monday, and always lament having to wait another day. Might I inquire as to how you knew to check for the wagon on a Monday?

Dumb luck. His sign says "open from 8am-5pm, or until we run out", Mon.-Sat. I was headed to Boston Lamb and Veal in the "Boston meat packing area" for a group I fondly call the Crazy Dog Food Coop people. I hadvolunteered because I saw BLV was close to Speeds! Driving around lost, chased by giant trucks I saw a little stand off in a dirt parking lot, and whipped in. The sign said 'Speed's' and the guy behind the counter smiled. The sun shone even brighter and the Hallelujah chorus swelled in the background. Couldn't have been a better day!

Also, I can't remember if this has already been reported or not...but I went last week and he told me that they are planning on being out there year-round --yes --in the winter --as long as it is not stormy (i.e. rainy or snowy).....I was thinking we only had a month or so left of Speed's goodness..but that's apparently not the case. Maybe they will have some sort of heater in that trailer? Also, in other news, the line seems to move much faster these days...the new guy isn't nearly as "meticulous" as Speed alone was..the dog still seems to taste just as good so I don't think it's a bad thing...

Makes my mouth water...now's my chance to bring the whole family and get them hooked on Speeds! Besides, I need help eating that massive torpedo-in-a-roll. Thanks for this tip...no Chow, no know.
