Cinnamon Pull Aparts

In a rush to get some dinner this week, I resorted to getting a bucket of chicken at KFC... suprisingly, they had a dessert promotion going on, and they gave me a free cinnamon pull apart.

Now, I'm not here to rave about the quality of a KFC cinnamon pull apart, but as a child, my mother would go to Dick's Bakery in the Willow Glen area of San Jose, and get me the BEST cinnamon pull aparts for a weekend treat. After years of not having a Dick's cinnamon pull apart, I went back to get one, but sadly the quality had dropped off immensely, and I was left disappointed.

So now, I'm looking for any recommendations for a bakery with a good cinnamon pull apart anywhere on the penninsula... It seems like this sort of pastry is too heavy for modern tastes, so it's been hard for me to find a good bakery that makes them. Doesn't need to be fancy, just needs to be good.

Please help me find a replacement for my childhood memory...

Delessio also has a good one, but it's very sweet.

I also like the one at Acme that foodeye mentions.

Tartine is also known for their breakfast buns.....those are worth a try too.

Well, since nobody had an answer for you, yet: Acme Bakery in the Ferry Building (and, though not as just-out-of-the-oven fresh, probably most anyplace that carries Acme breads) has a great cinnamon currant pull apart bread, in a regular loaf size and also a small loaf size.
