Looking for Barrata Cheese
While in Europe, I had the pleasure of trying barrata cheese and fell madly in love with it. Now I am trying to find it somewhere in Chicago - or at least a restaurant that serves it. I have tried igourmet, Murray's in New York, Bedford Cheese Shop and The Cheese Stands Alone here in Chicago to no avail. Any ideas? WF said they might carry it around the holidays ... thanks!
Do you mean burrata?
You might try asking at the restaurant Bin 36.

There was an article in the July 2007 issue of Chicago Magazine that mentions a few sources for burrata cheese, is that what you are looking for or is barrata a different beast?

Thanks to LabRat, I found the article in Chicago magazine and found my sources! Provenance Food and Wine carries it (the domestic version)

on at least 4-5 times i have been able to find it at fox + obel. its seemingly random when they have it in, but i always ask when i am there. good luck and if they have it in, i recommend grabbing some great heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, great olive oil and make the most wicked salad known to mankind.

I saw it on igourmet.com, but it looks like they are currently out of stock, are you sure this isn't a seasonal cheese?
