Best Cubano UPTOWN
Hi. I was just wondering what the best place for a Cubano is Uptown. Please don't tell me the best places in Manhattan or the city. I'm trying to figure out where to get a good sandwich not too far from where I live (113th and St. Nick). Thanks...

I read about a place somewhere in the 100's on maybe Columbus or Amsterdam that has good Cubanos. I forgot what it was called and I can't find the article anywhere. Does anyone know the place I'm talking about?

No, it's not Cafe con Leche, although I have been there and liked the food. I've never gotten a cubano there, though. I seem to remember reading something about a small Carribean place in the 100's that had a couple of cheap and good options. I didn't get out there though, and when I decided to I couldn't remember the name, or where I read about it!

El Presidente hands down! (Love La Rosita....tragedy they had to close) but El Presidenta is amazing!!! Cafe Con Leche....I just had one from there a few weeks ago. Talk about a let down. the pork was dry, there wasn't nearly enough garlic...oonly the ham and the bread was acceptable.

I think from the ones I have tried (minus the now-closed Rosita by Columbia) I like Floridita's the best (125st&BWY) -- moist and flavorful.
The ones from Malecon and Mambi (170-180st&BWY) are sometimes good but I've definitely have gotten some dry ones with very inconsistent pork-ham-pickle ratio.
That said I have actually found that I like medianoches more so maybe I was judging cubanos on a wrong standard?
