Casual but chowhound good in Santa Cruz?
Going to Santa Cruz and am seeking casual, good food(type not important) spot for early dinner with my sister -- any suggestions?

If you go to either of those places just be mentally ready for somewhat slow service. In my experience if you go in knowing you might not see a waiter for 20 min at 515 (and order accordingly) you have a much better time. The food is FANTASTIC, the atmosphere is social, and the prices are decent.
At the Redd, aka the Red Upstairs, make sure you get there relatively early as it gets PACKED at 8PM.
