Seafood!...The Water Grill?

Hey guys,

A few friends and I are looking to go out to a nice seafood restaurant downtown this weekend. I've heard that The Water Grill is pretty good, apparently it's David LeFevre's place. What do you all think? Would love to hear your thoughts before making a reservation...

agreed. but it is expensive. you could also try Roy's for some Hawaiian seafood.

    2. Very likely the best restaurant in downtown. Certainly among the best seafood in LA. I don't think you can have a discussion about the best seafood restaurant in southern California without the Water Grill as part of that discussion. Of course there would be wide debate, but WG is definitely one of the contenders. Michael Cimarusti (Providence) was Exec. Chef at WG for quite some time before opening Providence.

      1. Water Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in LA, downtown or otherwise.

I probably go there at least 2-3 times a month. Never really had a bad experience there. Some were better than others, of course, but always left happy.

        1. nice + seafood + downtown = Water Grill

Outside of downtown you will open a different kind of discussion, but you've found your destination.

          1. This was the highlight meal of a long business trip to LA. Top quality seafood, perfectly prepared, lovely service, beautiful surroundings.
Wish it were closer to my home. I'd be a regular.
