Great meal off the 170? Valley tips?

I live in los feliz. I'm shooting to meet a friend who lives out Magic Mountain way, half way.

Any good suggestions between here and there? I want to steer away from Sushi and the Ventura Blvd. corridor. Trying to spread out a bit.

Sanam Luang isn't too far away from the 170 for Thai.

Anyplace on Sherman Way between the 170 and Woodman... Krua, Swan, Sunshine, Bua Siam, Sanamluang, Khun Dang...

Also good is Skaf's Grill (Lebanese), right off the 170 at Oxnard and Laurel Canyon, near 7-Eleven.

(I would do more links if the place links worked better.)

Little Toni's in North Hollywood apparently makes a good pizza pie. I've never been but I heard many great things about it on this board.

IMHO, it's the best NY-style pizza in the Valley. (Get off the 101 at Vineland and go north to Lankershim, slip the Universal City traffic.) Also with a very old-fashioned spaghetti-and-meaball pasta menu.

Off the Magnolia exit, there's Sittons, a plain but reliable 24-hour diner; good Mediterranean/past at the Eclectic Cafe, and Salomi, George Harrison's old hangout, the best Indian in the SFV.
