Cave Vin (Minneapolis/Edina)

I ate there on Saturday night. I just love the feel of this place. I nice neigborhood hangout with good quality French Bistro cuisine. I started with mission figs/ proccuitto and honey. I follwed that up with a beet salad which was wonderful with a horseradish sauce. Finally, for the entree I was really really blown away with the tiny delicate homemade gnochi with crab in some kind of heavenly buttery sauce. We had a bottle of the Domaine Pegau entry level wine which was a little warm upon serving. I had to chill it down. Outstanding dinner and got in and out very quickly (made the early movie).

I think Cave Vin is underrated. My wife and I went there last year and really had a marvelous time. They tried to seat us in the "Rock Star" table, behind the bar, and after about 5 minutes (we didn't feel like rock stars and the bar noise was really loud) we asked to be moved and they did so without a problem. In fact all of the service was great. Haven't been back since, but it is not a real toddler freindly enviroment. Escargot and toddlers is not an optimal combo. I do look forward to going back though.

I agree it's a really nice place and should get more coverage here and in the local food scene. Maybe they will start to get some spill-over effect from the hotness of Cafe Maude. Adding a places link.
