Bday Dinner for a 9 year old near Universal Studios

We are taking my girlfriend's 9 year old daughter to Universal Studios for her birthday. We'd like to take her somewhere nearby afterwards for dinner. Does anyone have any recommendations for a non-chain restaurant with a kid-friendly menu. She really likes desserts, so a good dessert menu is a must.

It's technically a chain, but I'd recommend Buca di Beppo in Citywalk. Fun for kids and adults.

It may be a little too fancy but try Ca Del Sole. Their menu is on the website, so you can judge for yourself. Really great Italian food and desserts - I've had the tiramisu and banana desserts and both were great. Service is such that whenever I have gone, they are very amenable to making whatever you want however you want (assuming they are physically able to), so even though they don't have a kid's menu, they could probably whip up a regular spaghetti & meatballs for her.

There's also Miceli's, which is sort of like Buca di Beppo. Their desserts are, in my opinion, just good enough, nothing spectacular or anything. This is a more 'fun' atmosphere than Ca Del Sole.

If you drive back to Hollywood, you could go to Lucky Devil's, where they have good food, fabulous milkshakes and good desserts. Plus, beer for the grown ups. Or take her to the Disney Soda Fountain Ice Cream shop place.
