Millennium worth it? Any other veg options?

fiona974 Sep 20, 2007 11:07 AM

I'm a vegetarian and want a special place to eat out for my birthday in San Francisco. I've never been to Millennium. Is it worth the cost? I was thinking of the 5-course tasting menu with wine paring which is $90/per person. (Yes, I'm cheap - $90 for one meal is a lot of money to me.)

Is there another option I should consider? I've been to Greens so would prefer to try a new restaurant. Thanks.

If you are vegan, it is worth every penny. If you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian who consumes dairy and eggs, there are probably better high-end meals to be found in San Francisco.

Fleur de Lys has a vegetarian tasting menu that might interest you. It is $68 with a wine pairing available for an additional $55.

Thanks, and I should have clarified, I'm not vegan.

If you're not vegan, I think La Folie, the Dining Room at the Ritz, Fleur de Lys, or Masa's would probably be better choices.

Aqua used to offer an amazing vegetarian menu, believe it or not, all you seafood fans! I just checked their Web site, which doesn't mention a vegetarian tasting menu.
