Outdoor morning burger in Pasadena?

  • 9
  • Share

Will be in Pasadena on a Sunday, roughly 10am. Wondering if it's possible to eat a great burger, at this time and I'll have a dog with me, so I need outside seating. Would love to go to Pie N Burger, but I've never been by - do they have any outside seating? If I need to kill time til a place opens at 11am, that's okay if the burger will be worth it... Thanks in advance.

  1. Hi Life used to have a nice outside / picnic table area - but it's been sometime since I was there last so maybe check with them first. They are open from 8 am on Sunday's according to the web (another thing to check).

    1. No outdoor seating at Pie N Burger. You might want to try Wolfe Burgers on North Lake. They have a nice outdoor patio in back. I think they are open on Sunday.

Also, Hamlet on Lake has seating on the sidewalk in front.

Also, Rick's has outside seating. So does Top's. Not sure what time they close, though. Wolfe Burgers has a really nice patio out back as mentioned by Jay. Hopefully it will not be raining!

Can throw Connals there too even though its way north.

What part of pasadena are you gonna be in?

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I may have to save my appetite and go to two places!

I will be at the Rose Bowl. I live in Marina Del Rey and would rather not just hit a place on my drive back from Pasadena - since I am rarely in Pasadena, I'd like to take advantage of actually being there. I am willing to drive a bit, say, as far east as the Santa Anita race track, and as far north as Altadena Drive...

The Original Tops opens very early and has outside tables near the sidewalk. When I go early I get the pastrami breakfast burrito. I would give them a call about morning burgers but I think it is a full menu once they open.

THey don't start serving lunch (burgers) till 11 am

          2. I have the day off and took my best friend to the Off-leash dog park in Pasadena. On the way we stopped at the Original Tops for breakfast at about 8:00 am.. I asked what time Tops opens and they told me 6:30 am. They also said they offer the full menu of breakfast & lunch/dinner items including all their burgers during the morning hours. I went inside and ordered while my dog stayed out front by the nicely covered side-walk tables. They said it is was fine that my dog sits with me by the outside tables and that other people bring their dogs also. I had the pastrami and egg sandwich on white toast for $4.95 -- a very nice breakfast. The coffee is also good. If you want a morning burger try the Kobi Bistro Burger with deep fried zucchini. After the meal you can go walk-it-off at the dog park which is just North of Tops within a 5 min. drive.
