If you like "x", why not try "y"?

I was thinking the other day about how some of us seem to have go-to places we always recommend on this board - mine are Quince, Tabule, Mezetta, Utopia, Insomnia, depending on what people are looking for. I know others of you can't stop talking Tabla, George, Cava, Torito, Batifole, etc. So why not start a thread where those of you out there who have been there, done that (eaten at lots of places) can share new ideas that are "like" the ones we already love? The premise is that you would find out about somewhere new but somewhere that shares features with a place you already love.
I really loved Square, the now-defunct upscale place at the Lai Toh Heen sight on Mt. Pleasant. I'd love it if someone knows of a resto with the same level of service, types of dishes, and attention to detail.
I also really love Mezetta on St. Clair, and would love more recs for similar authentic mezzes or tapas.
This thread might not fly given how open ended it is, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Post below with a place you love (or loved, if it's gone) and maybe someone out there has another place like you can try?
