(hey PaulB) - JA food to investigate--Grove Hall
Had some great stewed chicken with rice an' peas at a friend's party this weekend. The food came from a restaurant called "Spice" in Grove Hall. Not sure if it's on Blue Hill Ave or Washington. Anway, the chicken reminded me of the elusive "back in the day" bomb-ass stewed chicken from The Paradise restaurant that we were reminiscing about recently on a different thread. Good rice and peas--well seasoned, nice texture, def. made with coconut milk/cream, mmmm. Steamed cabbage was good, too - well seasoned and not overcooked. My take-home leftovers were just as good the next day. Figured I'd toss this out there as a tip worth investigating.

Thanks so much for the info MB (damn I love ch.com and finding people that share a love of a particular style of food/drink!), will put it on top of my list of places to try. I think there is another one down in that neighborhood so I can tie it in.
