Captain Fresh closed up

We just discovered that one of our favorite sources for fish and Chinese groceries--Captain Fresh on Route 22 in Watchung--is closed. Sign is down, place is empty. :-(

I'm sorry for your loss, on the other hand, I always got skeeved out by the less than sanitary appearance and the smell of the place. I've always been happier with the Asian market further down Rt.22 (AFC?). Our son asked where all of the stray cats that used to live behind the store (as seen from the road down from B.J.'s) would live now. Ugh!

Yes, the store a bit west on 22 is AFC - or Asian Food Center. The one on 18 in East Brunswick is a Hong Kong Supermarket.

I noticed the same thing last week. I wound up heading down 22 to AFC, this was by far the best place in the area for whole fish and a bunch of other stuff too. I'm sorry to see it go.

What is AFC? I usually hit the Chinese Supermarket on Route 18 in East Brunswick, kind of like Captain Fresh on steroids.
