The Lunchbox drink

I've always been told that a lunchbox is a half and half of beer and lemonade (which is delicious by the way) but recently, a friend has insisted that there is more to it (a shot of vodka maybe?)

Does anyone know? And does anyone like beer and lemonade like I do? :)

  1. The Brits call that a 'shandy'. Never heard of the Lunchbox.

    1. Thanks Scott. You're right. I was misinformed. A lunchbox, I've found out, is actually orange juice, beer, and vodka. And yea, lemonade and beer is called a shandy, so delicious!

      1. In germany and austria it's called "Radler" and it's a great breakfast drink or when it's hot outside.
Here's a bloggie thing about it I found ona quick search:

Here we are, almost seven years later, and radlers and shandies are becoming popular in the US, with entries from Traveler, Stiegl, Leinenkugel, Saranac ...

I remember when Gilda Radler was quite popular.

        2. Uhhh. A lunchbox is beer a splash of OJ and a shot of Amaretto. Frequently it's taken as a "bomb" style drink where you drop the shot into the beer and chug it but its also just as good on the rocks. There is a variation where you can make the shot half Canadian whiskey and half amaretto.
