Anyone know where I can get wild turkey? Odd, yes probably, but I am on a game kick. Don't mind a drive, as long as it's semi-reasonable

You might have to do an online search and have the wild turkey shipped from some place else. There are many farms and markets that specialize in wild game.
My next thought is to phone Savenor's Market and find out if they can refer you to some place local..

Dewars in Newton and Wellesley had a variety of turkeys last year- I am pretty sure they had wild ones. Give them a call and ask.

I was going to respond with "ANY LIQUOR STORE!"

Glad I read the thread first!

Actually, every time this comes up I am tempted to suggest the DoT in Kendall Square. There is a wild turkey "Mr Gobbles" who hangs around. I haven't seen him in a couple of months, but I also haven't been past that area recently. And Martignetti's has Wild Turkey Rye.

For the original question, not inexpensive, but D'Artagnan offers wild turkey by mail order around Thanksgiving. Dewar could probably arrange it. There are farms and wholesalers (Specialty Foods) which specialize in game birds, but don't believe they carry wild turkey. Also a query on the New England board might be more fruitful since wild turkey is more common in NH and VT.

If you're handy with a bow and arrow, the wild turkey hunting season (archery) is on from Sept 15-Dec 15 here in New Hampshire. http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Hunti...
