Lolitas in Petaluma w/pic

Lolitas Market in Petaluma has a Taqueria inside that serves some very good Mexican food. A friend and I had a very satisfying lunch there today. I had three tacos, Carne Asada, Carnitas, and Al Pastor. My friend had a Al Pastor Torta. We both had Horchata, which is some of the creamiest I've tasted. The Carnitas was nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the interior, just how I like it. The Al Pastor had a nice spice to it, and was not too dry or wet. The tortilla chips appeared to be made there and were fried a nice dark brown, again, just how I like them. The Torta uses a Mexican bun not a French one as most places use.

On weekends they make homemade corn tortillas. They also make the best Menudo I have ever tasted.

If you happen to be in the Petaluma area you ought to give them a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

  1. Nice! It's been too long since I've been to Lolita's. I like the tortilla chips too, the thick and super-crunchy type they fry themselves. However, I'm surprised to see the spit of al pastor without pineapple on top. I usually ask for some of the pineapple with my order.

    1. I like Lolitas also. Very tasty tamales are sold out in front on Sundays and maybe other days as well. I usually eat inside and get some tamales to go
