Dried Chipotles in Durham

Hi all,
I'm looking for a store or market in Durham that sells dried chipotle chilis. Whole Foods used to carry them, but doesn't anymore. I had high hopes for the Food Lion on Hillsborough, since they tend to carry a good chili selection, but no luck there, either. Any suggestions?

jwerner36 could have been referring to dried chipotles as opposed to the canned ones in adobo (also excellent). Termite is correct about Compare for chipotles or anything else hispanic. There are also numerous tiendas on Roxboro that should have them. Carniceria Superior is a big store and almost certainly would have them.

Good point. I assumed confusion on the part of the OP b/c of the misspelling of the word 'chile'. You're prolly right about the chiles in adobo vs. the dried ones.

To find dried chipotles, look for brown jalapeno lookin' buggers. Also know as moritas

      Try Compare Foods

Dried chipotle is redundant. Chipotles are smoked and dried jalapenos. Any Hispanic store should sell them.
