I'm celebrating my 17th anniversary and family on long island have offered to let the kids sleep over so we can go to brunch next sunday morning... They live in Bellmore so we can't go too far from there.... ideas? I'd love a grown up style grand brunch ... thanks!

  1. 17 yr anniversary?... Kids??... I think that calls for something really nice!. Forget LI.
Think the other Island: Staten Island!
Make a reservation at the Staten Island Hilton. It's really not all that far. The Bufffet Brunch is delicious and the surroundings very restful and at the same time, romantic in an adult way. Afterwards, you can wander the grounds, or just have a seat in their lovely sitting/lounge rooms with no need to purchase anything else. It's basically a Highway trip and you deserve it! Have a wonderful anniversary

thanks for the thought but we won't make it to staten island... babysitting doesn't permit us to travel that far from long island - which is where we'll be saturday night for break fast. I'll keep it in mind for another time.

I don't know anything on the South Shore but Riverbay in Williston Park on Willis Avenue has a very nice buffet brunch on Sundays.

You can try Hemmingways on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh, the 56th Bomber Group at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, dim sum at Fortune Wheel in Levittown, BK Sweeneys in Bethpage on Stewart Avenue- Enjoy and congrats

      3. Go one town east of Bellmore
        Fork and the Knife
        opposite the Wantagh train station
nice buffet for 8.95 per person

        1. Garden City Hotel has a really nice "grown up" brunch.

          1. If you want really nice Carlton on the Park is very nice or Patty McGees in Island Park has a nice buffet brunch (great bloody marys)
