Greek Food in san diego

I haven't found any great greek restaurants in san diego. Can anyone reccomend a greek restaurant that would really knock my socks off. I love a good greek salad and a good kabob.

I've been to many great Greek spots as a native Chicago, and so far Cafe Athena in PB is my favorite.

Knock your socks off? You're outta luck... As a former NYer who lived in Astoria, Queens, where I met and married a Greek girl...well, the pickings are slim. But there is:

Athens Market--Downtown and Carmel Mnt Ranch
Cafe Athena--PB on Garnet
Country Kabob--Adams Ave

But I would suggest trying European Market and Deli on Park Ave. It's very casual, the food is home-cooked and authentic, and they have a variety of Greek grocery goods. (How's that for alliteration...)

Ask for Sophia...she does most of the cooking and she's a treasure.

I've tried Athens Market in CMN and its not bad but i haven't tried the one downtown. I've also tried greek corner cafe in CMN and its average. I've tried a few others but i can't really remember the names because they didn't really stand out.

I've heard good things about Cafe Athena and I've been wanting to try it.

The people that I know that like to go to Greek restaurants say that Cafe Athena is among the best. An option many haven't tried is the Pegasus Cafe in Rancho Bernardo.

What have you tried so far? There's little point in our recommending a place that you have already eliminated. :)

I don't think any of the Greek restaurants here fit the "knock your socks off" category.
