Hey -- coming for a conference in early april at the moscone convention center, will be staying in that general vicinity.

couple questions:

1) need a spot for group dining, potentially on a sunday night, (say around 10 folks or so) thats not too expensive, but still very tasty --granted, i'm probably the only food adventurer of the crew, i'd still like to find somewhere unique and fun for us all-- the last conference were all at in Wash. DC we ended up at Maggiano's -- pre-chowhound days, i rather that not happen again! :) we could certainly hop on the subway for a bit, not confined to moscone area at night...

2) any good breakfast/lunch spots in that neck of the woods -- i know i won't be far from the ferry buiding, and i have the feeling i'll be making multiple visits....

thanks for your help!

Cha Am and Chaat Cafe, both at the corner of Third and Folsom, can easily handle parties of 10.

So can Thirsty Bear--but has anybody been recently?

Don't go to Thirsty Bear - the food is Horrible.

My favorite restaurant - Great for groups is Lulu - right behind Moscone.

Casual atmospher, great service and a very friendly helpful wait staff. Family style food service. An incredible wine list. It's excellent!

I didn't mention Lulu's because it's fairly expensive. Great food, though (once again, it's gone up and downs over the past 13 or so years), and well set up for handling groups.
