  1. Might be a bit far but you could try try the Lederach Tea Room. Just north of Skippack on Rte 113.

    1. Awww, too bad!
I had THE perfect spot for you but alas, it is more than 25 minutes away.
But maybe when you are in Bryn Mawr you will try this little known gem that looks just like the clubhouse of a country club but is, in actuality, part of Bryn Mawr College called Wyndham House. Hardly anyone knows that they serve absolutely delicious lunches to "outsiders" and the surroundings are charming. It's the best kept secret.
They have both a full menu or your choice of the Salad Bar.
      Enjoy your "High Tea."

      1. It's not the burbs, but in Fox Chase there is an adorable coffee shop called Three Sisters Corner Cafe. It's near the corner of Loney and Oxford. I stopped in there and they have a picture of a group of ladies who did exactly what you're talking about, complete with the hats and gloves. The server said they had such a great time and sent the photo as a thank you. It's not a huge place, but I would imagine could accomodate a group of 10-15. It's worth a look and is very close to Abington.
