LADIES TEA IN BURBS FOR A BD CELEBRATION
We are a mature(says who)(Smile) group of friends who take each other out to celebrate birthdays! I thought a nice change would b e a HIGH TEA(At lunch time)(A little incongrous)
We live in Abington , PA and the only places I know are either in Langhorne,Lansdale or Doylstown area~Does anyone know of a GOOD one closer to Abignton~~~~~~~~OR will take a suggestion for a nice place for lunch within about 25 minutes away. Getting tired of the places near by!!!!!!!!!!
It's not the burbs, but in Fox Chase there is an adorable coffee shop called Three Sisters Corner Cafe. It's near the corner of Loney and Oxford. I stopped in there and they have a picture of a group of ladies who did exactly what you're talking about, complete with the hats and gloves. The server said they had such a great time and sent the photo as a thank you. It's not a huge place, but I would imagine could accomodate a group of 10-15. It's worth a look and is very close to Abington.
Awww, too bad!
I had THE perfect spot for you but alas, it is more than 25 minutes away.
But maybe when you are in Bryn Mawr you will try this little known gem that looks just like the clubhouse of a country club but is, in actuality, part of Bryn Mawr College called Wyndham House. Hardly anyone knows that they serve absolutely delicious lunches to "outsiders" and the surroundings are charming. It's the best kept secret.
They have both a full menu or your choice of the Salad Bar.
Enjoy your "High Tea."
