Pork tenderloins in Lincoln, Neb?

Our daughter is getting married in Eau Claire, Wis., and on the way back to SC, we're going to make a swing through Minnesota and eastern S.D. and Nebraska because we want to see some of the Great Plains. On the way we want to sample some of the region's legendary beef and pork, and one speciality I've read about are pork tenderloin sandwiches.

Our route will take us from Sioux Falls, SD to Kansas City; we'll be getting to Lincoln about midday. Any suggestions?

  1. Nebraska is outside the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich belt that runs from Indiana to Iowa. If Lincoln had one it would be on the fringes. Minnesota and South Dakota too are on the fringe of BPT territory as well. You might be able to find them but they most likely will not be the best or a good representation. However, if you are going to Kansas City I would heartily recommend trying one at Jerry's Woodsweather Cafe on the warehouse western fringe of downtown.

    1. I've never heard of Lincoln being famous for Pork tenderloins sandwiches... Misty's a steakhouse, has some darn good prime rib though.
