Saigon Garden BBQ Report

A group of seven Chowhounds followed the advice of Polly G and Mississippi Snopes and gathered for a meal at this Eden Center eatery with outdoor seating.

Minced clam hot pot stood out among several winning dishes. This is a MUST ORDER. Other successful orders included:

Oxtail, in a delicious gravy, rich and spicy.

Shrimp wrapped around sugar cane was an excellent version.

Fish and pork soup was like a pungent, wicked pho.

We ordered snails with basil, but this came out as sliced conch with basil. A nice sautee, but the conch was extra rubbery.

Shaky beef hot pot was ok, but took a major back seat to the clams. Not much flavor here.

As always, they can freshly squeeze sugar cane juice for you, and skewers of grilled meat are sold individually, so this is a great place to stop off for a snack. .
