Breakfast Place? - PHX

Firenza and I are meeting some friends this weekend for breakfast. We live in north Phoenix (51 & 101) and they live in Glendale (101 and Thunderbird). Does anyone have any favorites somewhere in the middle or close to Glendale? She's newly pregnant and has been getting carsick lately, so I don't want to make them drive. Thanks for your help.

  1. Hm, there's a Black Bear diner between the two of you on Bell.

    1. There's a Good Egg at 2957 W. Bell Rd

      There's a 5 & Diner at (27th Ave & Beardsley) 20216 N. 27th Avenue

I've heard the the Wildflower Bread Company has good breakfast but I've never been there myself

PS. I tried linking these but it wouldn't work. Sorry.

      1. I don't know of any "chow worth" breakfast places by the 101 & T-bird (I live in the area). There is a Coco's and JB's just East of 99thave, on Bell. There is a Good Egg on 83rd ave, S of Union Hills and a New York Bagel shop across from it. I-hop and Denny's on bell E of 83rd ave.

There is Mike and Rhonda's on 43rd ave & Bell as well. I like them for a change of pace from chain breakfast places.

Yes they are, I forget about them because they are a drive from me on the 101 & T-bird. It's about a 20 min drive (10 miles) compared to what is in my area.

I went to Kiss the Cook, based on the information from a 10/12/2010 article that said they had whole wheat pancakes.
According to the menu, the item described in the article had buttermilk pancakes, and the server confirmed they did not have whole wheat. I ordered it, anyway. I wish I had ordered something else. It was a typical "Denny's" breakfast.
The table next to me ordered custom omelets, and they looked good.
Maybe they had whole wheat pancakes in the past, and they weren't popular. I just like a grainy texture in my pancakes.

          2. Somebody already mentioned it, but Wildflower is good (adding link).

Also, I know it's a chain, but Cracker Barrel serves pretty decent breakfast. Two locations, one at I-17/101 and another at 101/Bell (that would be closer to your friend).
