YUMMY YUMMY RESTAURANT
CH'ers - I couldn't find the thread about Korean restaurants that we had going before-but I wanted to let you know that I went to a place called Yummy Yummy right next to the Oak St Theater yesterday.
This place is very no frills (yellow walls) and lots of writing from various patrons (I have a feeling mostly Korean students studying here at the U as evidenced by many of the names, symbols, etc). But it's cute, cheap and delicious!
We were there about 1:30 so we were still able to take on the lunch menu. The menu is not nearly as large as King's, Mirror of Korea, etc. but it's enough for people to find what they want (meat dishes) and a few vegetarian dishes.
However, just note that I love pork bulgogi and some Korean chicken dishes and they did not have any - lunch menu or otherwise.
We shared an order of mandu - which is NOT as good as other Korean restaurants, but the main dishes (vegetarian and beef be bim bop) were OUTSTANDING and large. They have extra be bim bop hot sauce at each small table and everything about the dish was fresh and fantastic!!!! They give you a side of kimchi and a side of the shredded carrot/radish, but no other traditional side dishes you get elsewhere (the cold potatos, the seafood pancakes, etc) but it's worth it.
They also had free miso soup availabe-self-service, but friend and I opted not to have any.
Check this place out next time (across from Jasmine Orchid)

re: alan
To further clarify the location of "Stadium Village" - it's located close to the intersection of Oak St. and Washington Ave. on the East Bank of the Minneapolis campus of the U of MN (close to the U of MN hospitals if that helps). People who grew up in the cities and/or went to the "U" or work(ed) there, tend to forget that there are a lot of people in the metropolitan area that are NOT familiar with the U of MN campus and the surrounding areas. :-) There is a public parking lot close to this restaurant if you can't find street parking.
