Nice brunch near Symphony?

Hi all. Going in October for a civilized birthday brunch and chamber music in the Symphony Hall area. I want to take my honey someplace nice, closeby. How is Brasserie Jo? Don't say the South End- we eat there all the time. Thanks for the thoughts!!! peace.

I know you said no south end - however the Saturday brunch (and Sunday too, but Saturday's a steal) at Aquitaine is amazing

Brasserie Jo has a nice atmosphere and tasty breakfast/brunch menu. I've had several business brunch meetings there and have been quite satisfied. There's a wide range of brekkie options, from light bites to things that'll stuff you right proper, and I've found the serive to be attentive.

For something less refined and more funky/slightly-hippie, how about The Other Side Cafe?

For the truly awesome, check out Bob's Southern Bistro. (Fried Chicken and Waffles? Yes, please!)
